the great adventure

12.5.07 110507

today will never replace 050505. but what you guys did up there, as much as it was for yourselves, was for all of us who queued like mad and fought to get inside. thank you so much, you have no idea how proud and happy i am (gahhhhs i sound like ms tang) for all of you. for all the nonsense i had to go through today, i think the process and the end result made my day.

band no. 2 -- Anglo-Chinese School (IB)

band no. 15 -- Anglo-Chinese Junior College

greeting the morning band with sunrise (pun intended), and then promptly getting scolded for being a lousy teacher (thanks a lot jerel -.-). being extremely tense and worried for the first time in the day, after which came extreme relief that one was over. hearing another few more bands before shuj and i decided we hated the zoo and crystal declared that it should remain night forever. meeting the ib guys outside and getting another complain from jerel for being a lousy teacher. fighting and getting upset with the lack of system that came with the afternoon (thanks crystal). being seated in the absolutely wrong camp the whole afternoon session, before getting absolutely blown away by them. laughing at the stupid things that isabel was doing in my presence (nothing has changed since sydney has it haha). being extremely tense and worried for the second time in the day (martin's bunny solo), after which came extreme / immense relief that it was all over. waiting for the results while praying that everything would be alright. counting the number of gwh's there already were. punching the air amidst the wrong camp when they announced band no. 15. running down to join in the school song that had erupted, admist the competition for the loudest school loyalty. going down for another round of the school song.

it's been a good journey. i've learned a lot, given a lot, and now i think i'm rather tired. congrats again (:

/edit/ it ain't matter what you got, it was the music that counted. it meant a lot to all of you, but i hope i don't have to see a repeat of the post-muse 06 times again. it's not fair to yourselves, it's not fair to doc lee, it's not fair to all the people who are rooting for you (that includes your fellows not far away from you guys), it's not fair to the music.

i think you'll pick yourselves up in due time. i just hope i'll be able to see it again. quit wallowing in what you didn't get, look at what you accomplished. be your own band. be a doc lee band. we're a forward looking society (hurhur).

proud of you guys all the same. all of you.

Give me strength to cross the water,
keep my heart upon Your altar.
Give me strength to cross this water,
keep my feet don't let me falter.
